Celebrating the School of Rehabilitation Science Awards 2023
Today we celebrated the students, post-doctoral fellows, and clinical faculty members working to improve Rehabilitation Sciences as a field and to support the ongoing work of our School.
You all contribute to our school, its programs, and our community in such valuable ways. Thank you to all who have made these awards possible, especially those on our dedicated Awards Committee who had the pleasure of reviewing applications and nominations for all of these awards.

Basmajian Travel Award: The Basmajian Travel Award is available to all students, post-doctoral fellows, and clinical faculty members of the SRS. The travel awards are designed to provide support for presentations accepted at scientific meetings.

Dr. Ian and Shirley Rowe Travel Award: This award has been supported through a donation to the SRS to enable registration and travel funding to doctoral students, post-doctoral fellows and early-career investigators to present their research in the field of childhood disability. Applicants must be presenting a peer-reviewed paper, poster, or workshop.

SRS Champion Award: The criterion for this award is consistent/significant/long-standing contribution to the SRS in the form of research, and/or education. This award is for organizations/agencies/clinics, clinicians, community members.

SRS Distinguished Alumni Awards: This award acknowledges graduates from McMaster University, from the Occupational Therapy , Physiotherapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Rehabilitation Science (MSc/PhD), and Master of Health Management programs. The award winner will inspire a passion for personal growth, development, and life-long learning. This award will honour and recognize an alumni who is respected and admired for their leadership, achievements, and contributions in any of the following area(s): Scholarly activity; Education; Clinical Practice; and, Community-at-Large.
